Xemed’s Multi-Species Noble Gas Hyperpolarizing System

Xemed’s premier product, the Multi-Species Noble Gas Hyperpolarizing System offers world-class hyperpolarizing capability for both MagniXene™ (hyperpolarized 129Xe) and MagniLium™ (hyperpolarized 3He). For diagnostic research, drug development, and ultimately for patient care, the combination is truly greater than the sum of the parts:

  1. The combined system offers researchers dual modality capability, for protocols with sensitivity to the solubility or diffusivity of the probe atoms.
  2. Validation of protocols is enhanced by comparative studies: Sensitivity to confounding factors can be uniquely evaluated by cross-calibrating with a less affected probe (e.g. measurement of local alveolar oxygen partial pressure is confounded by diffusion when performed with 3He and by solubility when performed with 129Xe).
  3. Researchers with installed 3He MRI infrastructure, experience, and data benefit from MagniLium’s higher 3He polarization and output while transitioning some investigations to MagniXene™ and adding new investigations unique to MagniXene™.
  4. Multi-modality infrastructure can offer greater investigative capability, providing institutions and their principal investigators a competitive edge in future research proposals to NIH or in collaborative research proposals with pharmaceutical companies.
  5. Practical benefits of co-location of MagniXene™ and MagniLium™ production include lower cost for acquisition, similarity of operation software leading to reduced overhead in training, single point of service for Xemed leading to lower maintenance costs relative to two separate systems

The Multi-Species Noble Gas Hyperpolarizing System is delivered as a single system in two cabinet-style equipment racks. Maximum flexibility in operation is achieved by providing complete and independent systems for simultaneous production of both MagniXene™ and MagniLium™, no operational components are shared.
